Scooter and Natasha find a home in Upstate New York

Dave and JoBeth with both dogs.

Babe Ruth was rescued from the shelter, he was heartworm positive and really frightened. It took a while to get him to trust and feel safe, but, with loads of love and fun, he soon came out of his shell. Natasha was being fostered through MCAS, she was a little older with skin conditions and Margo was helping her feel safe, loved and happy- and got her healthy!

I met Dave and JoBeth when they would visit at The Islander newspaper office while they were on vacation from New York. They liked the dogs we brought in and especially one I had, named Sparky. They couldn’t foster or adopt when I first met them, they had a senior and didn’t want to cause her grief. We kept in touch, they followed the Moonracer Facebook page and they would visit when they came to Florida.

Lisa with Babe Ruth and Tasha

After their beloved dog passed away, I received an email that they were ready to foster. In fact, they had an animal communicator and through their dog, were asking to adopt TWO of the dogs they had seen us sharing. Babe Ruth (Scooter) and Natasha. We transferred Natasha into our rescue.

It was a great day when Dave and JoBeth drove straight through from New York to come and meet these two great dogs and then, they drove right back up with them to their new home on 10 acres. These two twerps really hit the doggy lottery with this fantastic couple and enjoy their lives more than we can possibly describe! They get the best of everything and they deserve it!
